Ivan has only one job opportunity - illegal fishing. He has no choice - he will either catch sturgeon or starve. Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov lived under six rulers of the Soviet state. With five of them, Beria (read Stalin), Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Andropov and Gorbachev, he met personally and hoped that in one way or another he would be able to influence their decisions. But he had a real impact on the society of his country. He was born under Lenin and died under Gorbachev, a year and a half before the day when the state collapsed, the strengthening of which he contributed to in the first half of his life and which he fought in the second. This "turn", as he himself called it, is the most interesting thing in Sakharov's history.

On December 23, 2020, the smelting shop in the village of Nikel carried out the last melting and was stopped forever. The workshop began to be built back in the 30s, when this territory belonged to Finland, and the village was then called Kolosjoki. At the end of World War II, when the territory was ceded to the Soviet Union, the destroyed plant was restored, and the village was named Nikel. It is located west of Murmansk, a few kilometers from the Norwegian border. In the 1980s, the plant emitted about 400 thousand tons of sulfur dioxide into the air per year, and in 1990 an environmental campaign was even launched in Norway to Stop the Soviet Death Clouds. The Norilsk Nickel company, which took over the mining and metallurgical plant in Nikel in the 1990s, initially agreed with Norway on the modernization of enterprises on the Kola Peninsula, but then abandoned the program. In the end, Norilsk Nickel, the largest supplier of non-ferrous metals to the world market, decided to close the smelter on the border with Norway, promising workers social guarantees, transfer to other company enterprises, retraining, pensions, and a small business development program for the village and, for example, industrial tourism.

In the winter of 2021 rallies were held in Russia in support of Alexei Navalny. People protested against the arrest of the politician. The number of those detained at the rallies exceeded 17,000 people, many of whom received administrative punishment in the form of arrest. There were not enough places for detention in Moscow, and therefore the detainees were sent to the Center for the temporary detention of foreign citizens in Sakharovo near Moscow. As a result, an unusual group of people gathered in the special detention center - almost a thousand young men and women who were close in spirit. The film from a correctional colony explores the theme of self-awareness of a person in captivity. The director shows the prison from an unexpected angle. This is a hypnotizing, oneiric vision. There is no moralizing here. The author is interested in a person and the most precious thing he has - his dreams and his reality. The film contains documentary footage from a correctional colony (a plastic recycling workshop and a residential block), mounted with a monologue of a prisoner in order to understand what is happening with human reality on the other side of the fence.
