Marina sets up a small private bakery, baking day and night to ensure the family survives. When debris from a Proton M rocket crash-lands on the mountain pasture, narrowly missing the cabin, Boris and Marina demand a large sum of compensation money from the Russian space agency Roscosmos. Their claims remain unanswered and instead of the much-hoped-for improvement in their lives, the family is beset by more disaster.

The film shows a region that was on our minds for many months, not only in Europe. It shows people on the periphery of the war, how it changed their daily lives and how people react to both their new and old needs. Their struggle for survival is sometimes marked by quirky moments that give the film an unexpected lightness. The two directors Veronika Glasunowa and Lukasz Lakomy started with the preparations for the movie long before the war. This enabled them to build a relationship of trust which endured in wartime, and it helped them obtain extraordinary insights.

A visual work at the intersection of cinema and performance, a playful and documentary approach. The project refers to the corporeality of human nature, the teachings of Mikhail Bakhtin about the carnival culture of the Middle Ages, quantum physics and the theory of relativity. Filming took place in the summer and autumn of 2015 on the wild beaches of Crimea, where the culture of seasonal nudist settlements has long existed. Either way, the hunger strike transforms into not so much a social protest as into a trial for the strength of the spirit, faith and love.
