Why do people need such a complex brain and how did we get it? Does a person really use only 10% of the capabilities of the brain, and is there a limit to human mental abilities? How are the brains of men and women different? How are feelings born, and can they be detected with the help of technical means? The leader of the project, the famous scientist Alexander Kaplan, with the help of experiments and illustrative examples, will give answers to the most popular questions regarding the work and structure of the brain.

In the Siberian countryside, marriage is traditionally seen as the greatest achievable happiness for a woman. But the 90-year-old Dorotchka, an archetypal babushka, has always remained alone. At the kitchen table, she contemplates life, love, regret and loneliness—has she maybe brought this fate upon herself? The film is a spinoff of a film that screened at IDFA 2016 any many other international film festivals, Siberian Love, in which filmmaker Olga Delane explored the same views on love and marriage.

In Chukotka, on the coast of the Arctic Ocean, people live, cut off from the whole world. Their life revolves around hunting walruses and whales and protecting villages from bears coming from the tundra. This turns the film into a meditation on death. Marine animals are the main source of food for humans; skins and offal are used to feed arctic foxes on a fur farm; human cemeteries become food for bears. All inhabitants of these places are involved in the cycle of food and death. The film departs from the usual rhythmic structure of cinema, being built on the principle of a shamanic ritual, a meaning-forming event for the northern peoples.

The TV was buzzing all ears about the Great Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi, so they rent a car, buy tickets and drive across the country to see the competitions, the sea and Russia beyond the Moscow Ring Road.

Three Tajik brothers, Ali, and Kamil Fedor, settled 150 km from Moscow in a makeshift hut, hidden behind a fence. Their life is hard, they speak Russian poorly and live away from their families. Their job is to cut and transport the wood from the forest next door. Every day life is punctuated by the hard work, the daily tasks, card games, drinking and bickering with the Russians in the neighboring village. The film speaks of economic exile, bitter life out of another time, double family for some, and the feeling of not quite here nor longer quite out there…

Three months of revolution. From indignant protest to popular unity. From pots on your head to clubs and bulletproof vests. From the euphoria of victory to the mourning of the dead from the Heavenly Hundred. The revolution is like an explosion of awakened dignity, like the euphoria of freedom, like the pain of realizing the price, like the birth of the newest history of Ukraine. Just a few weeks after the end of the revolution, the organizing committee of the International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival "Docudays UA" hot on the trail of the filmmakers who filmed the Ukrainian protest asked them to provide their best footage to be shown at the opening of the festival. Episodes of future films about Euromaidan have formed a kaleidoscope of revolution that needs no comment.

The film is about our times as reflected in the lives of women. It is the story of my classmates, the children of complete and total socialism, the environment where we grew up, our youth and who we are today. Newspapers and other mass media have never run stories about my classmates. They are background players who have never been really discovered. All we know is that they exist. They are the true representatives of their generation, a few among many women sharing the fate of their sex. The film is about women whose main function was family and raising children. They worked salaried jobs, cooked for their families, cleaned and washed and stood in long queues to buy sausage. Were they able to realize their dreams and their potential as women and as personalities?

For twelve years, war photographer Oleg Klimov captured on film the collapse of the Soviet Union. He was present at almost all military and ethnic conflicts in the 90s. His photographs were on the front pages of many Western newspapers, as silent witnesses to the wars in the former Soviet Union. But Oleg's career also influenced his personality. After several quiet years, he unexpectedly finds a war injury on his own. Driven by inner longing, he returns to some of the places where he photographed people during the war, to Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia and Chechnya, to find those who are depicted in the pictures.
