Ivanna is a young Nenets woman and mother of five, living in the Russian Arctic. Like her family for centuries before, she has led a traditional nomadic life in the tundra, driving a herd of reindeer. Most of them die, and she knows she will soon be left without a livelihood and be forced to make a dramatic decision. The film is about four years of a Nenets family from the harsh life in the tundra to modern everyday life in the Siberian city of Dudinka. It is both a liberating drama and a melancholy requiem for a lost way of life.

A punk chef and his student who exist in everyday life, where all routes and meetings are scheduled, and the density of urban development allows you to move only in the “home-work-pub-house” square. "Gray" as one of the synonyms of everyday life, but there is something beyond it.

During the war, children, along with adults, worked in the fields and factories, shouldering household chores on their fragile shoulders. Many of them died from disease and lack of food. There was a severe famine, people were swollen from malnutrition, and in order not to die, they ate grass cakes and porridge with sawdust. "Everything for the front, everything for victory!" it was the slogan of the time. Despite the difficulties, they did not lose heart, worked hard and believed in victory over fascism.

Two young teachers arrive in a small provincial town with dreams of changing the school system. Katya and Vasya are not even thirty, they graduated from the best metropolitan universities. They are not professional teachers, but they love children and really want to sow what is reasonable, kind, and eternal. Therefore, they get a job at an ordinary local school and from the very beginning declare to each other that they do not want to scold children or punish them with deuces, they do not want to teach them to cram and walk in formation. Their goal is to show students how to think and create independently. The reality turns out to be much more complicated. Half of the children in this school after the 9th grade are going to vocational schools, they have little interest in creativity, they go to school like hard labor. Most teachers are not going to deviate from the traditions of Soviet education. Will the characters in the film retain their enthusiasm? Will they be able to find contact with difficult teenagers? Will they stay next year?

What would be the shortest route between the Mesopotamia in Argentina and China's Shanghai? Since these two places are antipodes in relation to each other, then they would be the most common straight line drawn through the center of the Earth. Viktor Kosakovsky had to circumnavigate the globe three times to make the film Long Live the Antipodes, a look at a world in which people live at opposite ends. Kosakovsky visited four such diametrically opposed points, and everywhere he searched for deep connections between such different worlds. The vertical axes are drawn between Argentina and China, New Zealand and Spain, Siberia and Chile, Hawaii and Botswana. Like a kaleidoscope of bright pictures of our planet, the film was the answer to the main question, so who are they, our antipodes? And are we that different? The author's conceptual point of view reveals deep connections between people and landscapes located as far as possible from each other.
