On March 29, 2012, massive anti-government strikes took place in Spain against the government and its far-reaching economic austerity plans. In the very center of Barcelona, protesters were rebuffed by police officers who pacified the crowd with rubber bullets. Everywhere people crowded, fires broke out every now and then, and the doors of offices and shops were closed. The only building whose doors remained open was the Opera House, where Ludwig Minkus' Don Quixote was given that day. On this very day, 32 students of the creative documentary workshop from Pompeu Fabra University took to the streets with cameras, along with their master Victor Kossakovsky, to film a film that captures the day's events. The end result is a "ballet film" consisting of shots of streets and squares taken from various angles. The image is accompanied by music by Minkus, which creates an alienating effect when viewed.
