Film monologue of the philologist, translator Lilianna Lungina about the life of the soul and the world around. With ruthless vigilance, considering her own development from childhood to the last days, she makes internal events no less fascinating than external ones. Her story is a unique combination of confession and scale, large-scale and general plan: it is both a portrait and a fresco, because the heroine does not lose sight of the general, social life for a minute, trying to present to the audience the fate of Russia and, to some extent, Europe in the 20th century.

Madina Mustafina again takes root in the forbidden, taboo territory. The heroine of the picture is a modern 18-year-old girl Zhenya, not burdened with social obligations. As a typical bearer of youth subculture, she is not endowed with special talents and lives an ordinary life of a growing up provincial girl, loves to dance, meets guys, teaches her friends how to kiss. In general, neither the norms of behavior, nor the manner of speech, nor the desire to please, in any other way, does she differ from thousands of other girls. Except for one thing: the girl Zhenya is actually a boy.

For six months, Andrejs Lošaks and his filming crew observed people who "survive rather than live." The documentary series "Pentagons" portrays the poorest inhabitants of Russia, individuals who have entered an unspoken agreement with the state: you don't interfere with us, and we won't interfere with you. But then, the war began...

For several years, the author has been making film observations of his heroes, peasants from two neighboring villages in the Lipetsk region. One of them, Uncle Vanya, is a poet, a local Kulibin, who builds a starship. The second, Uncle Kolya, wandered through life in an alcoholic stupor, but one day, having experienced a severe shock, he got out onto the “sober” highway. The most remarkable thing about the film is the author's point of view.

If you stop a passerby in a European town and tell them that most of the Christmas trees originate in Georgia, they would be surprised – usually, the label says “Denmark”. We observe the two communities involved in this business. One in Denmark, and the other one in Georgia. We can see many things in common between them and discover also the huge differences in their living conditions, attitudes, and mentality. The seeds of the fir cones are harvested every autumn in Georgia and then sold to the Danish, who grow the seedlings for 7 years to sell them across Europe. These fir trees grow as tall as 60 meters, and to reach the best cones, the pickers have to climb to the very top. Sometimes they lose their balance and fall. Is this all worth the lost lives of cone pickers? Does the multi-billion Christmas tree business redeem something in exchange?

A cinematic testament created over a period of 15 years, "Afterwar" is a meditation on the long-term repercussions of war. Interweaving raw realism and staged performance, this hybrid film follows four children from Priština, the capital of Kosovo, as they transform into adults before our eyes in the country in which the aftereffects of the war from late 1990s are still felt; they remain in limbo, haunted by memories, and dreaming of a better future.

The heroes of the film are the pathologist and his work. This is a favorite job, where everything is arranged for life. Bookshelves, selection of music gourmet CDs: Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, etc. On the walls are oil paintings with views of the morgue. No cynicism, only professionalism, humor and a dream come true of a person who, from childhood, dreamed of understanding why a person actually dies.
