Andrey Zaitsev's cycle "My Great War" consists of four parts. Four piercing monologues about the war, four veterans, four stories about what they experienced and what I can not forget for six decades. The protagonists are a mortar lieutenant, a tank lieutenant, a penal battalion officer, a blockade runner.

This is a film about the Great Patriotic War, as the famous Russian writer Viktor Astafiev saw and knew it. A rare recording was made two years before his death. In it, he, not embarrassed in expressions, tells the whole bitter and terrible truth of the war that he went through as a simple soldier. The tape was awarded the Golden Eagle Prize of the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia as the best documentary film and the Laurel Branch Award as the best feature film.

Gleb is three and a half years old. The parents decide to send him to kindergarten.

For six months, the camera shoots the same place, or rather the backyard of the store. It is located in one of the "sleeping" areas of Moscow. In the morning, men run there to get drunk and run to work. Their wives come in here with bags to smoke a cigarette and talk with a bottle of beer in hand. When no one is there, this is the most convenient and most popular public toilet, in which they relieve any need. This view from the window is the most common for residents of the outskirts of Moscow. The back yards of shops, garages, summerhouses of kindergartens, benches, school yards are the favorite places for leisure activities of those who live around them. Children grow up with this view from the window, begin to spend their free time here, and then one day they will bring their children here too.
