This story is about the Russian North. The research undertaken by the author began with the villages in the Arkhangelsk region, near the White Sea, where his family comes from and where he spent his childhood. A significant part of the villages is remote from cities and often has no connection with them, except for air transport.

There are two weeks before the meeting with the mother. There is a month before death. But the first seems much scarier. "Outro" in music means the completion of a piece, an exit, a sign of the end.

Siberia. The sparsely populated village of Krotovo. Farmer Vasily Dmitrievich Abramov lives in the village completely alone, since in 2005 his sons were convicted of murder and sentenced to long prison terms. The film, which was filmed for 10 years, is the last work of the classic of Russian documentary film Valery Solomin. It was completed by his sons Evgeny and Viktor Solomin.

More than 60 years have passed since the opening of the Kuibyshev reservoir. But Anwar still sees in his dreams his native village, which has gone under water. Will he find the graves of his ancestors, going to the surviving piece of land, battered from all sides by a wave? At this time, in another part of the country, they are going to blow up the rural House of Culture. The former director of the House of Culture, Galina Zhmurova, remains in the village to the last, not wanting to leave her homeland, which is about to be buried under the thickness of the Boguchansky reservoir.

Novaya Gazeta was founded in 1993. This is one of the first independent publications in post-Soviet Russia. And one of the last. Novaya constantly publishes high-profile investigations. He has more than 60 prestigious awards, including the Pulitzer Prize, the UNESCO Prize, three nominations for the Nobel Prize. The film "Novaya" tells about the life of the editorial office in difficult times.

For more than 35 years, the Soviets expand their geopolitical influence in Africa with humanitarian aid programs based on Marxist ideology. Up until 1991, some of the country’s best filmmakers were sent along to document the ‘glorious advance’ of socialism on the African continent. The Soviet Union broke apart and “socialism” became a dirty word. Russia, struggling with an economic crisis, lost all political interest in Africa. Still, thousands of kilometers of film footage remain.

Dima was killed on the 23rd of May 2013 at the age of 21. Enlisted in the Russian army, he was shot in the head during a military operation in Dagestan. His parents face the void following his death, whilst the army continues to train young soldiers for future missions. The two universes intertwine to portray what Dima's life was like and its brutal end.

Manya, newly repatriated from Russia in accordance with the Israeli Law of Return, meets Erez, a native-born Israeli Jew. She soon learns that to be with Erez she must undergo an Orthodox conversion (known as Giyur), even though she and her family already identify as Jewish. The film follows her as she reevaluates her love and redefines her Jewish identity.

A young entrepreneur, Ilya, is trying to launch the production of inexpensive but high-quality coffins and establish a legal client-oriented approach in his small funeral company in the Kaluga region, despite the corruption and criminality of this market area.

Once upon a time In Vladivostok, Russia there lived an old woman. She lived all her life with her old man. They lived like two dogs. Biting each other all time. He told her: “Do not smoke, Olya!” She said to him: “Fuck U”. So they lived happily they had children and grandchildren too. They celebrated the New Year together, until one day the old woman died. And the fairy tale here is not the end. That’s where all the fun begins. How to live further?

A six-month voyage along the Siberian rivers is a real test for doctors, life in small cabins, strict ship routine, drills and emergencies. Nurse Vika left her little son at home, who gradually forgets her. Dr. Olga Nikolaevna escaped from loneliness, as her son grew up, and now he has his own life. Difficult relationships in the team, as there is no opportunity to take a break from others. The motor ship climbs far along the tributaries of the rivers, where heavy vehicles have not been seen for a long time. Rising to the Ural Mountains, at the risk of running aground, the ship reaches the most remote villages. Zyryans live there, many of whom still wear national clothes. Khanty and Mansi live down the river. The captain must keep not only the ship, but also the team in good shape, because this team has its own problems.

Documentary film about the late age of motherhood. The director of the film tells his own story. The doctor warns her about the possible difficulties with pregnancy due to endometriosis and insists on urgent IVF. However, in vitro fertilization is a process that you need to be prepared for. Both financially and morally. You also need to have a permanent partner and family support. What if one of the items is missing? What if a few are missing?

Summer 2010. The entire central part of Russia is engulfed in fires. The authors, together with volunteers, go to the very epicenter of events. Volunteers, foresters, firefighters - they are not heroes in the usual sense of the word, it was just their life, their misfortune, and they tried to cope with it as best they could.

An archive photo from 1940 of a murdered woman trying to save her son with her body becomes an inspiration for contemplating over film´s boundaries - geographical as well as metaphorical ones. People on different sides of the Latvian – Russian border sense the import of historical realities in a completely different way. One side associates it with liberation, for the other side it means the loss of freedom. A well-known Latvian author, Davis Simanis, produces an explosive testament about the tension on EU´s eastern borders.
