We follow political refugee from Russia Alexey Vetrov who tries to get refugee status in Ukraine. Despite all the burdens of living with no documents, he works and participates many civil actions. The escape of Nurkhan, a journalist, was forced by her covering the so-called Osh massacre in Kyrgyzstan. Now she and her three teenage daughters are seeking for asylum in Ukraine.

Nestled in the hills of Transcaucasia, and entirely preserved in time, there are several villages founded by the Molokans – a Russian sect of Christians. They were exiled to the mountain Azerbaijani region of Kabristan by Czar Nicholas I in the 1830s. The Molokans now have all but become extinct. The remaining settlers now lack a succeeding generation to whom they could pass on their original traditions, and the film intends to make it possible for the local Molokans to reproduce their history for their descendants sprawled across the world. The film discovers the traces of hidden life left in Kabristan, while simultaneously unveiling the present-day lives of the locals.

This is how the main characters of this look, members of the Kazakh group Ninety One. Many will not find anything unusual in the image of the musicians, however, the group's popularity among Kazakh-speaking teenagers caused great indignation in part of the society, which led to street protests, disruption of concerts and pressure from the authorities. The emergence of Ninety One revealed a whole layer of social and cultural conflicts within the Kazakh society between urban and rural culture, between traditionalism and globalization, between the vertical of power and personal freedom.

Each of them was on the field for different reasons, but today they have a common task to maintain their status as champions in the national competition. The Molokans do not marry other people, and that is why they have preserved their national identity for centuries. The main hero of the film is the blind old man by whom we get acquainted with the molokans. The people are telling about themselves, that's what we see through both speech and action.
