Elegy of a Phantom

What remains after an actor? This is the question Alla Sergeevna Demidova poses to herself and to the viewer. Having embodied the greatest roles in ancient tragedies and Shakespeare’s works, what more can an actor wish for? Perhaps only to linger in memory—as a phantom, an image both alluring and haunting, a fleeting mirage.

“Elegy of a Phantom” is a cinematic journey that begins at an exhibition and unfolds within a world that is at once fictional and, perhaps, the only reality for its characters. The viewer is invited to reflect and answer the question for themselves: “What remains after an actor?”
