What remains after an actor? This is the question Alla Sergeevna Demidova poses to herself and to the viewer. Having embodied the greatest roles in ancient tragedies and Shakespeare’s works, what more can an actor wish for? Perhaps only to linger in memory—as a phantom, an image both alluring and haunting, a fleeting mirage. “Elegy of a Phantom” is a cinematic journey that begins at an exhibition and unfolds within a world that is at once fictional and, perhaps, the only reality for its characters. The viewer is invited to reflect and answer the question for themselves: “What remains after an actor?”

The film was shot in Luzhitsy village. Exactly in that period of time natural and social landscape in that area began to change drastically because of grandiose industrial building process. The situation exceedingly effects Vad'd'a, they are a small people with thousands years of history, they survived through wars, revolutions and Stalin.
