A story about the life and work of the Kharkov poet Boris Chichibabin. Having absorbed the origins of Russian and Ukrainian culture, he became a symbol of honesty, humanity and spiritual fortitude in all the vicissitudes of a bygone era. At the same time, the poet was always aloof from both the semi-official and the dissident highways, "in rebellious solitude." His poems, as he himself put it, always went “against the flow”. And this annoyed many.

The hero of the film, Viktor Muravitsky, shares his memories of his uncle, the great opera singer Ivan Kozlovsky, who once saved him from death. The film presents unique archival materials about one of the most outstanding tenors of the 20th century, whose creative path was a true service to God.
