The film is dedicated to one of the most tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War, the history of the feat of the Moscow People's Militia. An expedition to the battlefields near Vyazma, mass graves hidden in the forests of the Smolensk region, stories of historians and search engines, newsreel and photographs from family archives involve us in the events of the autumn of 1941.
