People of different nationalities, different cultures are buried in the cemetery of Sainte-Genevieve des Bois near Paris. However, Saint-Genevieve has long been considered a Russian cemetery. And moreover, a collective monument to people who, by the will of history, became emigrants of the first post-revolutionary wave. This "monument to Russian destiny" was carefully, bit by bit, created by the entire emigrant world. And in the film, it is presented with the help of Alexander Lyapin, a caring volunteer, a man who has done a lot to preserve this most significant Russian cemetery outside of Russia. The stories of Alexander Alexandrovich Lyapin are another document of the tragic fate of the Russian emigration.
