In 1938, Vasily Kachalov, one of the most charismatic actors of the Moscow Art Theater, saw off his teacher, director Konstantin Stanislavsky, on his last journey. The funeral of Stanislavsky became the beginning of the road along which, remembering the past and the departed, Vasily Kachalov had to go alone.
