For the first time, the name of M. Yu. Lermontov was associated with the Scottish Lermontovs in 1837, when an article by William Rolston "A Scot Abroad" appeared in the Scottish press. But the poet knew about it from the very beginning, prophetically. Lermontov had many poems dedicated to Scotland. Later, Lermontov's connection with the Scottish Lermontov family was repeatedly confirmed by scientists and Lermontov scholars, but for some reason no one in the world of cinema covered this topic.
