A film about the life of the workers of the last narrow-gauge railway in Russia, which is used to transport cut wood. Together with him, the villages in which these workers lived also perish. The protagonists of the film are residents of a remote Vologda village, they still hope that their narrow-gauge railway will work, but the void that has captured everything around the village is getting closer and closer to them.
