Fennoscandia is an area in the north-west of Europe, identified by the Finnish geologist Wilhelm Ramsay in 1898 as part of Norway, Sweden, Finland and the western part of the Olonets and Arkhangelsk provinces of Russia. International cooperation aims to preserve both the natural and cultural and historical heritage of this region.
