The Golden Triangle is located at the junction of three borders, Burma, Thailand and Laos. This region for many years had the notorious reputation of the center of production and trade in opium. Instead of a government, drug lords ruled the city. Thanks to the efforts of the authorities and international organizations, the situation is gradually normalizing, but the long-term dominance of opium has led to the fact that the mountain peoples living here have found themselves in poverty and isolation. It is here, in the Golden Triangle, that the Monastery of the Golden Horse is located, the residence of one of the last itinerant monks, His Holiness Kru Ba Nya Chai Cositto. For the past 15 years, Kru Ba has been dedicated to caring for the locals, and especially the orphaned and abandoned children. Filmed over the course of a year, the film chronicles the difficult and dangerous work of Kru Ba in this still troubled region.
