Podnieks, as one of the most outstanding Latvian documentary filmmakers, was able to speak directly and openly about his time, society, individual and nation. He sought answers to difficult questions in the nation's past and encouraged self-awareness, seeking ways for a more prudent existence of his people in the future. In the interviews, previously unpublished diary entries, photographs, and film fragments included in the film, the viewer will have the opportunity to follow the twists and turns of the creative personality's growth and be present at important turning points in our recent history. Most importantly, it will be an opportunity to meet Juris Podnieks again and get to know him anew.
