Sergei Cherkashin, a veteran of the Afghanistan war, has been serving as a boxing coach in a Chuvash village for three decades. He sponsors children to participate in competitions, encourages them to engage in physical activities during their free time, and even organizes his own sports events. Sergei not only imparts technical skills but also prepares them for adulthood by fostering patriotic values and instilling traditional virtues. He commands respect in the village from both adults and children, with many of his proteges pursuing careers in law enforcement and serving in the military under contract. This portrait reflects life in the Russian hinterland during times of war.
