Firuza, a 10-year-old girl, writes an essay in Russian on the topic “Motherland”, she turns to her grandmother Mushkinaz for help, who tells her about her difficult fate, about her childhood in Georgia and life in Kazakhstan after the repressions of the Meskhetian Turks in 1944.
