Vasily Barannikov is the last remaining inhabitant of the once-existing Nymylan settlement. Coastal Koryaks, Nymylans, never knew how to swim, but fearlessly went to hunt sea animals. Seal hunting is the basis of their way of life. Vasily's current destiny is memories of his departed wife, grandfather, and happy childhood. But Vasily is not going to leave his native place. He is waiting for the revival of nymylan.
