Alexander Malinovsky, a young and energetic conductor, serves as the artistic director of the Youth Orchestra of Folk Instruments at the Donetsk Philharmonic. On the surface, there seems to be nothing unusual about this—except for the backdrop of war. Life in a frontline city creates a unique tension, where the themes of music and war are in constant counterpoint. The film offers an intimate look at life in Donetsk through the eyes of the younger generation, who, despite the challenges of living in a war zone, defy the old adage: 'When the guns speak, the muses are silent.' In Donetsk, they are not. The war has become a constant, but the city refuses to surrender. The city lives on!"
