In the high Arctic latitudes, on the coast of Hooker Island of the Franz Josef Land archipelago, there is Tikhaya Bay - the wintering place of the expedition of Georgy Sedov (1913), the Soviet scientific base (since 1929) and the first Arctic observatory of the USSR (1937). Today the polar village is a seasonal field base of the Russian Arctic National Park. Every summer, inspectors and restorers work here, tourists and scientists visit. This film is about the amazing history of Tikhaya Bay and its heroic present day.
