We can't tell when the Hungarian and the Ob Ugric branches of the Uralic languages separated. But we do know the exact date of their re-union: 24 March 2005 - the wedding day of Eszter Ruttkay-Miklián and Arkadiy Longortov. Eszter is a Hungarian ethnographer, Arkadiy is a Khanty hunter from tiny village in Western Siberia. Today, the couple and their 8-year old daughter live between Hungary and Siberia and face the intercultural challenges day-by-day.
