Akira Kurosawa is one of the greatest film directors of the 20th century. The film "Dersu Uzala", shot by him in the Soviet Union, received the Academy Award "Oscar" in 1976 for the best foreign film. Making a film is a big test of strength, but making it in the taiga, under the most difficult conditions, is a double test. This film not only brought the "Oscar" to the Soviet Union, but also saved the life of Akira Kurosawa.
