In the regions of the Far North, a woman who is engaged in a household is officially considered to be employed. At her disposal is a plague covered with reindeer skins, which is transported and installed to a new place up to a hundred times a year. Pavla Nikolaevna became, as she says, a "chum worker" at the age of 17 and has been doing this for 31 years. Prepares food, stokes the stove, cleans up, takes care of the children. She has an apartment in the city, but she will not exchange her difficult life for a city one, since she considers the tundra to be her real home.
