The theme of prisoners of war during the Second World War is one of the main ones in the work of film director Anatoly Alai. And this is not accidental, because his father, military doctor Ivan Alekseevich Alai, who went missing in the first days of the war near Bialystok, was also a prisoner of war. All his life, the son was looking for his father. Finally, certainty appeared, the hope of revealing the fate of the father, since his name appears in the archival data of the German association Saxon Memorials. The film-investigation puts all possible dots over the “i” in this life-long story.
