The once populous Russian-Tatar village of Tankaevka is gradually falling into disrepair. Abandoned wooden houses gape with gaping windows, overgrown with quinoa and bird cherry orchards. Nevertheless, the life of the remaining twelve inhabitants continues, they slowly repair a rusty tractor, knit birch brooms, mold dumplings and, remembering the past, sing old forgotten songs.
