Monk Kiprian serves at the Vysokopetrovsky Monastery in Moscow. His monastic life is yet another feat of Colonel (retired) Valery Burkov, Hero of the Soviet Union. A professional soldier and aircraft engineer, he lost both legs in Afghanistan, survived three clinical deaths, returned to the army, and endured unimaginable hardships. The film tells the story of a man whose life has become an example of resilience for many of his contemporaries.
