The film tells the story of a veteran of combat operations in Chechnya. The main character is a twice-awarded recipient of the Order of Courage, a retired colonel. His friends still habitually call him “Combat” (Battalion Commander), even though he commands no one anymore. Behind him are three wars, seven wounds, and two concussions—a typical record of an ordinary officer’s life. The film is about how love conquered war.
