For more than 40 years, Nikolai Eliseev has been working as a caretaker of the Kandalaksha Reserve. His family is in the city, he and his wife are divorced, their three children rarely visit, preferring city life to Pomeranian seclusion. Nikolay keeps records of birds and animals living on the protected Gavrilov Islands, makes sure that uninvited guests do not interfere with the animals. Over the years of working with Nikolai, various stories have happened, some of which he tells.
