The film is about 83 years old Vahandukht grandmother, who lives in the village Kharkov of the Shirak region(which is under control of Russian border troops, it is in neighbourhood of the city Ani). She has already been living here alone for 12 years. The relatives left the village, but she is not going to leave it, because there is a graveyard of her husband and also she promised to her mother in law, while she is living in this village, the chimney of the bakery should always smoke, so that the Turks will not be happy of the thought, that the village has no inhabitants anymore.
