Patimat has built her life in Saint Petersburg. After the sudden death of the closest person in her family — her named sister and brother’s wife — Patimat returns to her native village. Silence reigns in the deceased’s house: everyone has withdrawn into themselves, except for the two little daughters who cannot hide their tears. Through silence, pauses, and the cries of children, the film explores the many facets of loss.
