"Youth 90" is a documentary about life in the Russian provinces at the end of the 20th century, compiled from home videos and television archives. The main characters are ordinary people, the kind about whom films are rarely made. In their faces, we can recognize our relatives, people passing by on the street, or our neighbors. Among them are a young married man, oblivious to what is happening around him, and a conscript who casually marched off to the army, only to end up at war and disappear. Two parts of one reality: peace and war.
