When women from the North Caucasus republics are faced with domestic violence and total family control, they have practically nowhere to turn. Some of them decide to take the riskiest step, to escape. These young women not only cut ties with their families forever, but also learn to live in constant fear for their safety. Many families are ready to do anything to find fugitives and force them back home, where the girls can face an “honor killing.”
