Evgeni Leonov's grandparents Alejandro Cuevas and Marta Cid fled Chile after the military coup on September 11, 1973 to Sweden. His grandfather was in the Presidential Palace La Moneda with Salvador Allende during the military coup and during the bombing because he was part of Allende's medical team. Between 2017 and 2021 Evgeni documented his grandparent’s lives. He tried to understand how exile has affected his family. The film is based on interviews with the grandparents where they tell about what happened during the military coup and the dictatorship and how their lives changed. Evgeni also interviewed their children who live in Sweden and their relatives who remained in Chile and who lived through the dictatorship.
