Southern region of Kyrgyzstan, spring 2022. Daniel, 11, and his cousins live with their grandparents in the countryside. They spend most of the day in the barnyard. Children wake up at six in the morning and do all the "adult" work. The Kyrgyz-Tajik border passes near the village, where people often shoot. Children talk about the war, remember the armed military from Tajikistan, tell how they escaped from them. Daniel finds solace and tenderness in the barnyard. He has a special relationship with all animals, he talks to them. He especially loves the cow, calling her "my dear".
