The descendants of a soldier of the Ukrainian insurgent army who died in the Transcarpathian village of Verbivka (Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk region) were deported to Kazakhstan in the 1940s. Today they are sending a professional genealogist Olga to deal with the circumstances of the death of their grandfather. Having gone on a journey, Olga finds out that the story of the death of Peter Gritsiv is not as straightforward as it seemed at first glance.
