A film about the personal and professional maturation of cabin boys and cadets of Russian nautical educational institutions during round-the-world sailing expeditions.

The film tells about a round-the-world expedition of three Russian sailing ships Kruzenshtern, Sedov and Pallada, made to Antarctica and back to the Russian Arctic with the passage of one of the sailing ships along the Northern Sea Route. The expedition was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian sailors. As part of the expedition, cadets and cabin boys (aged 14 to 22 years) had sea practice on sailboats.
