The film is based on the story of the blind soldiers of the Red Army (“hearers”) who defended the besieged Leningrad, who, with the help of acute hearing and sound-catching equipment, learned about the approach of German aircraft. The number of lives saved by blind "rumors" who served in tandem with sighted Red Army soldiers cannot be calculated; every month, thanks to their work, hundreds of raids were repelled.
