A look at the work of Russia’s only hospice for large wild cats. The film tells the story of former circus employees Dmitry and Yana Kim, who decided to completely change their lives—first selling their apartment and car to save predators, then moving from their small hometown to the Leningrad Region to be closer to the metropolis and able to provide urgent veterinary care. This story isn’t about tigers and lions—it’s about the people, exploring what drives them and how these big cats became, in effect, their family.

The film is about the path to yourself and to the absolute rethinking of your usual life in the new reality that the world faced in the spring of 2020. Paradoxically, the most severe test of the past 20 years has brought people together while dividing them. Loneliness has become a kind of catalyst for internal change for each of us and for the six Russian-speaking characters in the film from different countries. For a month, they filmed video diaries in which they shared their thoughts about what was happening and learned how to interact with the world in the new conditions of strict restrictions.
