The director of the summer pioneer camp near Vilnius, Samuil Pevzner, after the German attack on the USSR on June 22, 1941, managed to bring about 1,000 children through Belarus to the deep rear. The film tells about the difficulties faced by the children and teachers of the pioneer camp during the journey to Udmurtia, where they all found shelter and stayed until the end of the Great Patriotic War.
