The film’s protagonist, Katya, decides to stage a ritual — a farewell to the *Perm Gods*, wooden sculptures leaving the Perm Art Gallery after a century on display. To do so, she must return to the authentic folk songs she once abandoned and teach them to two friends, forming an ensemble. As they rehearse the Ritual, the women begin to reexamine their lives, their relationships with each other and their City — and to ask themselves what the “divine” means to them.

Lucy is an actress in the theater of the city of Perm. Her career is not working out, nor is her personal life. But unexpectedly for herself and for those around her, Lucy begins to compose fairy tales. Some say that this is graphomania, others say that her fairy tales inherit the long tradition of storytellers of the Perm region. Fairy tales captivate Lucy, she becomes a conductor of something mysterious for herself.

The artist Igor Gusev became popular in Europe, but continues to live in his native Odessa, although every day in this city gives him pain. Odessa is barbarously disfigured by the destruction of the historical fund and the construction of a mediocre new building. The artist is looking for nature for a commissioned painting, and this search reopens old wounds in his soul, reminding him of decay, aging and death.
