Theatrical director Artem Tomilov, who grew up in the marginal environment of the outskirts of Omsk, returns to his hometown after 15 years. He intends to stage an autofiction play, “Artem Tomilov,” about himself. The events that unfold during the production of the play become a part of his story, alongside the myths and spirits from the hero’s past and the people of Omsk. The film “Artem Tomilov” narrates the tale of a modern-day Odyssey with an ironic and elegiac tone.
