Three short stories, three main characters. One is 84 years old, he could buy himself an island, a plane, whatever, if he sells the collection. But he lives with the dream of opening a stone-cutting school and a new museum. The other, a former geologist, is now a jeweler, a local history writer. Believes that the inhabitants go for treasures. Also a stone maker. He says that a stone feels better than a woman.

This is a story about a guy who wants to break out of poverty, conquer a big city, conquer the world. He takes care of his grandmother in the small town of Stroitel, rushes to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Dreams of becoming a world famous artist. Calls himself an artist. Works as a worker. Believes that nothing is impossible. Sometimes he seems like an ordinary loser. But the patterns are broken.
