Two friends, Ranjit and Shyam, are stranded in the Kachchh Rann salt desert, which divides India and Pakistan. This place has trapped the "Agaris," salt miners, in an endless cycle: 8 months before the monsoon arrives, they work, their feet covered in blisters, to pay for the land rent. But with every monsoon, everything repeats itself: the water floods the area, leaving the locals without money and work. Shyam believes they need to leave. He is ready to help Ranjit and take him on a journey toward a new life. Leaving the village, they realize it won't be easy. Their differing views on life lead to distrust and even betrayal.
