Every two years, Zhukovsky, a city located 42 km from Moscow, hosts the international aerospace exhibition MAKS on a former military airfield, which is visited by about 300,000 people a day. The Tsagovsky forest around the airfield consists of pine trees, thanks to which it was nicknamed the “lungs” of Moscow. In 2012, illegal logging takes place to widen the highway leading to the airfield, leading to massive protests and arrests of activists. The film is based on interviews with residents of the science city and participants in the events. Subjective memories enter into a dialogue with documentary footage of landscapes and architecture near Moscow, initiating a confrontation with the ghosts of our past and future.
