"Tales about Mom" ​​is a documentary full-length fairy tale that tells about the sad departure into eternity of the images of the old world of the Russian North. Connoisseurs, mermaids, goslings and mermen once inhabited the Russian North. And today, somewhere in the fields overgrown with forest, along with abandoned huts, the long-forgotten spirits of folk beliefs are living out their last days. Vasily Popov, a native of the northern village of Lekshmozero, sets off on a journey to the place where his family home once stood. Almost the entire family of Vasily died in the war, which devastated the northern villages. Vasily's journey is an attempt to find the spirit of the "old world" on the overgrown shores. But if the shores of the lakes are silent and seem to be dead, then it is worth crossing the line of reality, and the "old world" captures its enchanted wanderer.
